Advantages – Flexible Service Offerings

Adapt to Changing Business Needs
SkyPilot's architecture provides great service flexibility that allows the network to adapt to the changing business needs.

The system provides a remarkably low entry cost and is scalable enough to meet the long-term growth projections. Therefore, you can start small and buy what you need as your network grows.

In addition, SkyPilot offers a range of flexible service offerings that enable service providers to customize their network to best fit their business needs. This also allows the network to change over time to adapt to new services.

As an example:

  • Start with broadband Internet access service for fixed-wireless business users
  • Expand into the residential market after building the backhaul infrastructure
  • Leverage the wireless infrastructure to add revenue-enhancing VoIP services
  • Branch into Wi-Fi coverage for hotzones and downtown access

All made simple with SkyPilot's solution.

Flexible Subscriber Types: Business, Residential, or Personal Access
SkyPilot's solution can serve the needs of a variety of subscriber types, ranging from residential to business to personal access. SkyPilot's tiered bandwidth capability and low-cost CPE allows service providers to target the cost-sensitive residential market, and SkyPilot has several business-class solutions including multi-homed redundant connections, VLAN support, QoS guarantees, and encryption. For personal usage, SkyPilot provides outdoor Wi-Fi access to allow wireless hotzone connectivity with a range of subscriber management capabilities from Solution Partners.

Flexible Subscriber Access: Wi-Fi or Ethernet
SkyPilot's products offer a variety of Internet on-ramps to subscribers. For residential and business subscribers, access is typically through Ethernet drops into the site through CPE. For personal access, SkyPilot provides industry-standard Wi-Fi access for laptops, PDAs, VoIP phones, and a variety of other devices.

Flexible Service Type: Fixed Wireless or Nomadic Wireless
The SkyPilot solutions allow service providers to target subscribers' needs. Most residential and business subscribers are looking for nailed-up, always-on fixed wireless, and personal subscribers seek freedom to connect while mobile. The combination allows the ability to have a single network and permit subscribers to access the network whether they are at home, at work, or on the go.

Flexible Architecture: Backhaul and Access
SkyPilot combines sophisticate long-range, redundant, high performance backhaul technology with low-cost access options, all within a scalable multi-hop network. By incorporating both backhaul and access, the network elements can be combined to reach subscribers wherever they are.

Flexible Topology: Mesh, Point-to-Multipoint, Point-to-Point, and Combinations
SkyPilot's multi-hop mesh architecture allows a nearly infinite arrangement of topologies. Traditional point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topologies are simply subsets of SkyPilot's mesh solution, so all three of these topologies can be combined in any configuration a service provider can dream up. This removes any restrictions of the topology on the deployment, freeing the network to grow into the areas targeted for service.

Flexible Frequencies: Licensed and Unlicensed
SkyPilot offers a range of frequencies to take advantage of licensed and unlicensed bands around the world. These frequency bands, which include most of the unlicensed 5 GHz frequency bands as well as the 4.9 GHz band, are available on all SkyPilot products.

  • 4.940 - 5.150 GHz
  • 5.150 - 5.450 GHz
  • 5.450 - 5.725 GHz
  • 5.725 - 5.850 GHz
